YOU GOT A PAIR ON YOU

Like many people watching tv, at least according to published ratings, I am enjoying the new streaming show The Last of Us on HBO. If you're unfamiliar with it, the premise is that in a post-apocalyptic world one person has been shown to be immune to the condition that has killed the majority of the world's population and turned a bunch of the remainders into zombies. It's a fairly standard science fiction trope, though with the twist that the infection was fungal not viral or bacterial. It's based on a video game. The show is well done and entertaining, and features a few of my favorite actors. Bella Ramsey, Anna Torv So why the fuck and I writing about a tv show that, at least so far, is decidedly nonsexual and features zero nudity? (Again, at least so far..) There was a line delivered by actor Anna Torv's character Tess in the first or second episode which grated on my nerves and has stuck with me. One of the characters, the one who is immune to the disease, is ...

PART OF THE SCENERY - SECOND THOUGHTS

Image
I am very aware I'm a bit of an outlier when it comes to my attitudes about nudity, sexuality and my aging body. I am conscious of the societal limitations on behavior and I don't transgress. I'm occasionally and uninhibitedly nude around my wife, my best friend, my physical therapist and a few medical types, but don't "flash" anyone else. I point that out because in the course of reading the variety of online forums relating to nudity, masculinity, and exhibitionism, there are a small minority of participants who promote a more aggressive approach bordering on and sometimes deliberately encouraging outright assault. Not rape, but flashing people who not only aren't prepared for it but are offended by it. In many cases men are deliberately getting erections. That's assault, guys. Don't mind me, I'm just the scenery A few months ago I posted a piece based on a comment made by a friend to the effect that women don't see nudity in the same fra...

SLIDE ME SOME SKIN

Image
I have lamented, more than a few times, my lack of what anybody else might consider a sexual life beyond masturbation. That lack, in fact, was a motivating factor when I began this blog a few years ago.    I’ve resigned myself to being in the passenger seat, and that’s okay. I’m in love with my wife and if this is a sacrifice, then I’ll pay it. Masturbation isn’t the best sex, but it will have to do. (And, under the right circumstances I've grown pretty adept at it.) On the other hand I am concerned with the lack of true, intimate, physical contact - which I truly believe is a fundamentally important experience to have in this world.    Skin to skin contact, to be specific.    I believe that human beings are social animals, and for our health and well-being we must have a good degree of physical contact with each other. In this modern neo-Puritanical culture we, as Americans, are recreating, this may seem kind of creepy...

CALL ME PROFESSOR PROTON

If you don't recognize the titular reference, it's for a character from the tv show The Big Bang Theory. Kind of an appropriate show name for this topic, which is sexual experimentation. I am a firm believer that people of proper consensual age be encouraged to experiment sexually. Most of us do, anyway, but sexual and mental health depend upon a secure and enjoyable sex life. Without societal permission to explore sexual wants and needs we can assume roles which are not fully rewarding, and, in fact, can be quite damaging. I know this sort of thought is unusual, and will certainly never happen in modern American society. Many Americans have enough trouble understanding that they need to keep their minds and laws out of someone else's bedroom, let alone letting little Johnny or Sally try same-sex oral. Or multiple partners. Or anal, or mutual masturbation, or, or, or... Part of our sexual identity forms as a result of experience. Lacking that experience can lead t...

I LOVE MY COCK

Image
I love my cock. No, this isn't going to quite go in the direction you might expect. I love my cock. I love being male. I love the ability to have an erection and ejaculate. I love the little guy. Okay, now that you're completely convinced I'm a degenrate perv - not necessarily an inaccurate description - let me explain. Over the holiday weekend some friends and I got to discussing gender fluidity. Odd topic for Easter dinner, but there you go. Without getting into specifics that might help identify me, I have several relatives who are gender fluid, ranging from a trans nephew (formerly neice) to a cousin who now identifies as male, but is entirely female under the fabric. It's a confusing world, and frightening for many people. But unlike all of the generations which have been before us, ours is perhaps the first to begin to accept that gender fluidity is a real thing.  And gender fluidity is not (necessarily) sexual. It has to do with role identification a...
